Kerry Park is probably Seattle’s most famous skyline viewpoint, and for good reason. From this small park on Queen Anne, the city lines up beautifully with the Space Needle, downtown, Elliott Bay, and, when the mountain is out, Mount Rainier in the distance.
I’ve photographed this view for years, but I’m most interested in the times when it stops looking like the postcard—sunrise color, low clouds, fog, winter light, dramatic sunsets, and those brief moments when the weather completely changes the city. It’s a familiar view, but never quite the same twice.
