Mount Rainier Reflection Lakes Photography

Reflection Lakes is one of the most beautiful and recognizable landscapes in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington. Nestled beneath the towering summit of Mount Rainier, these alpine lakes offer extraordinary opportunities to photograph the mountain reflected in still water, surrounded by evergreen forests, summer wildflowers, and the rugged peaks of the Cascade Mountains. I've returned to Reflection Lakes many times over the years, drawn by the changing light, weather, and seasons. On calm mornings and evenings, the mountain's snow-covered slopes can appear almost perfectly mirrored in the water. At other times, drifting clouds, soft mist, and changing skies create entirely different compositions. This collection captures some of my favorite moments at Reflection Lakes, from brilliant mountain reflections to quieter studies of light, color, and atmosphere.
