Hoh Rainforest Photography

The Hoh Rain Forest on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula is one of my favorite places to photograph the quieter side of the Pacific Northwest. Moss-covered trees, ferns, fallen logs, and soft filtered light create an endlessly changing landscape beneath the old-growth canopy. I’m especially drawn to the smaller scenes here—the rhythm of tree trunks, layers of green, moss-covered forest floors, and the subtle light that appears when clouds and rain soften the woods. These photographs are less about grand vistas and more about the atmosphere and structure of the forest itself. This collection includes photographs from the Hoh Rain Forest and surrounding Olympic Peninsula forests, ranging from broad woodland scenes to intimate studies of moss, ferns, trees, and forest light.
